La Vie En Rose [ Levi x Reader ] Oneshot
Author's note: This is my second fanfic, so please bear with me; also, please excuse the length and Levi being ooc; I'm too lazy to create a sequel, let alone a series in which Levi has believable character development.Warning: there's some swearing but its Levi so its expected. As you trudged through the hall, your feet dragged across the floor, disturbing the dust's peaceful slumber. You rarely slept, and the nightmares did an excellent job of making sure of it; however, for the past few nights, sleep has been particularly elusive. It had been no less than a week since that dreaded 57th expedition, where both yours and Levi's squads were ruthlessly slaughtered in a failed attempt to apprehend the female titan, and once again, the survey corps had to save Eren's ass. Since then, the corporal has not left his office, not for barking orders at brats, not for food, not even for tea or cleaning. No wonder it was so fucking dusty; the cadets must be lavishing their exceptionally rare break from laboriously cleaning the headquarters all day long. The slight chill in the air gently nipped at your bare arms and legs as your body was only ensconced in your (f/c) oversized shirt. Aimlessly, you wandered the halls, allowing your feet to drive you. It was no surprise that you wound up at the slightly ajar door that led into the immaculate office of the corporal. Usually you would pause your walk for a few seconds, contemplating whether or not you should walk in—maybe keep the corporal company—yet this time a strangely angelic voice emitted from the office. If you weren't mistaken, that voice was Levi's. Levi was singing? Your jaw dropped, your eyes widening in disbelief, as if a sudden jolt of electricity had coursed through your veins, leaving you momentarily stunned. Carefully, you opened the door, leaving enough room for you to poke your curious little head through. You stared at Levi's incredibly short form, trying to reach the top of his bookshelf with his beloved cleaning supplies in one hand and his favourite duster in the other, continuing to sing the beautiful tune. Entranced by the melody, you felt a calm euphoria wash over you, and a content smile made its way to your lips as your body began to completely relax for the first time in a while. Something about the melody made you feel as if you were home again. Mustering up the courage, you sneaked into the corporal's office and were now standing behind him. You stood up on your tiptoes to tap him on the shoulder; despite the corporal's height limitations, you were still shorter. Levi jumped out of his skin, bumping into the bookshelf as he did. "What in the fuck, brat, do you think you are doing?" He barked as his steel grey eyes formed a furious glare; if looks could kill, you would have been dead 10 times over. His eyes, losing interest in your presence, flickered over to his precious cleaning supplies that now lay scattered across the floor. "Tch, brat, you made me drop my cleaning supplies. What the fuck do you want?" "Umm, I just wanted to ask, Do you sing to your cleaning supplies? Is that how you seduce them?", you asked, trying to stiffle a giggle that would have lead to your immediate demise. "Enough with the gay for Windex jokes already, Levi rolled his eyes in exasperation expressing his deep loathing for the silly joke that never cease."Now what do you really want, squad leader?" "Can you sing for me?" You asked sheepishly. His eyes softened, though imperceptibly, as he gazed down at your petite form. Your head hung low, ashamed that you had even asked such a stupid thing. A sort of half smile crept up to his lips; he didn't want to admit it, he knew he never could admit it, but he had a soft spot for you. "Tch, fine, but since you're here, grab a broom and start sweeping." You eagerly grabbed a broom; it was a worthy trade. Levi cleared his throat and began to sing. "Hold me close, and hold me fast. This magic spell you cast, this is la vie en rose." You had barely started to sweep the floor before your eyes started to close and his voice lulled you into a peaceful trance. "And when you kiss me, heaven sighs. And though I close my eyes, I see la vie en rose." His ears pricked up; he couldn't hear you sweeping. "Oi brat, did I say you could fucking stop?" Your body jerked suddenly. "Oh, uh, no, sir. Sorry, sir." "Its Levi." "Hmm?" "Call me Levi.""Oh okay sir, I mean Levi", you let a half smile place itself upon your lips. Levi, you thought to yourself, you like the way it rolled of your tongue.Time Skip is brought to you by the god of Windex.Slowly, you walked to Levi's office, shakily holding a teacup in your hands. Holding one of the few things Levi cared about, you cautiously opened his door with your foot, making sure not to spill a drop of the steaming amber liquid. Hurriedly, you placed the cup on his desk. You couldn't trust yourself to hold it any longer. It had been a few months since the last expedition; since the night Levi first sang to you, Levi had quickly reverted back to his usual stoic demeanour, and his menacing aura increased tenfold, and with that, so did the chores for the cadets. However, you noticed that his usual glower would ease slightly when your presence was nearby, but you brushed it off, assuming that his scowl was only mitigated because you were always accompanied by his beloved beverage. "Here's your tea, Levi", you said sweetly. His eyebrow raised slightly, and his steel grey hues scrutinised each inch of the cup, making sure the drink was up to his standards. You were the only other human alive allowed to make his tea. "Black tea, not green." He asked robotically. "Yes." "No milk, sugar, or other ingredients that spoil tea." "Yes." "No spills." "Yes," you let an irritated sigh escape your throat. His militant approach to tea was unnecessary.Though your company in Levi's office became a much more frequent occurrence than it ever had been, you still couldn't help but feel slightly on edge, mostly because it took every ounce of discipline you had to stop yourself from pouncing onto him and sticking his tongue down his throat. You always had some feelings for Levi, but since that night, your heart raced whenever you saw him, your palms became moist and clammy (fucking disgusting), and you couldn't utter a coherent sentence without stuttering and stumbling over your own words. Most importantly, you couldn't let Levi know of your feelings; definitely not. Fucks sake Why does all this cliche romance shit always happen to me? I'm almost as bad as Levi or Erwin when it comes to love, you thought to yourself. Distancing yourself from Levi, your eyes stared idly at the floor, occasionally shifting your weight from one foot to the other as you fidgeted with your (h/c) locks. What you failed to notice, however, since you were as oblivious and dense when it came to love as a brick wall, was that Levi had grown to adore your company; he had grown to love the tinge of pink that graced your cheeks when you were around him, how you always brought him a perfect cup of tea, and most importantly, how you would clean his office just to hear him sing. You were his ideal woman, but he could never tell you that; definitely not. His office window was left slightly agape, allowing a gentle breeze to ruffle his beautiful onyx locks that perfectly framed his pale face. He sat there still like a porcelain statue, only moving when he brought the cup to the pink sliver of his lips to take a sip of his tea. His looks could easily rival those of Adonis himself. Ahhh, why was he so attractive? It's too tempting. Am I actually jealous of the tea cup? Stop taunting me, you damn sexy migit. You screamed internally as you bit down on your bottom lip to stop the onslaught of dirty thoughts that overwhelmed your perverted mind. Levi placed the empty cup back on his desk. He glanced up to see your anxious form standing in front of him. He smirked. He knew exactly what you were waiting for. "Go grab the broom, then, brat; we haven't got all night." Your head shot up, your (e/c) hues lit up with excitement as your favourite time of the day was approaching, without a moments hesitation, you sprinted towards Levi's cleaning cupboard, quickly yanking the broom from its position and beginning sweeping. Levi cleared his throat and began to sing. "Hold me close, and hold me fast. This magic spell you cast, this is la vie en rose. And when you kiss me, heaven sighs. And though I close my eyes, I see la vie en rose." You had heard him sing every single night, always the same song, but you never grew sick of the monotony. You paused briefly, hoping Levi the clean freak wouldn't notice, so you could appreciate the beauty of Levi's voice in its entirety. "When you press me to your heart,I'm in a world apart, A world where roses bloom. And when you speak, angels sing from above. Every day, words seem to turn into love songs." He stopped abruptly; his ears pricked up as the absence of sweeping engulfed his office. Oi brat, why are we not sweeping? His harsh snap pulled you out of your trance, and you stood there dumbfounded, like a deer caught in headlights, unable to utter some pathetic excuse. "Tch, usless brat, can't even clean properly anymore - look at all the dirt! - now you don't get to hear the end." You pouted your lips in childish disappointment. Every time you stopped sweeping, Levi would stop singing to complain, although this time he was unusually harsh, and so far you hadn't heard the end of the song. You let out a disgruntled groan as you placed the broom back in its original position and turned to leave the office, as you did every night after Levi finished singing like it was a ritual. As soon as you were about to walk out into the corridor, you heard Levi's deadpan voice pipe up from behind you."Oi brat, don't even think about coming back until you learn how to clean."His words infuriated you, fists clenching by your sides, the veins in your neck and forehead visibly throbbing as you felt your body expanding with rage. You gritted your teeth, trying to stop your fury from exploding into fits of uncontrollable yells that you knew you would regret, but fuck it, you didn't care anymore. The man you loved treated you more like a servant than an equal, let alone a potential lover. You swung your body around to face the ravenette, who had buried himself in paperwork."I'm not your fucking maid!" you roared, slamming the door shut behind you. He leaned back in his chair, rubbing his calloused hand on his sinuses, muttering curses at himself for treating you too harshly.Time skip due to my lazy ass.Levi glanced up at the clock in his office, which replaced the silence with a continuous ticking. You were late. Your tardiness left him uneasy; you were never late before, despite the times he acted like a soulless robot without mercy, you would still come and pester him to sing. So why now all of a sudden? Or had he pushed you too far? Unbeknownst to Levi, you were silently standing outside his office, rallying your nerve to face him. Knock, knock. Levi raised his gaze from his mountain of paperwork to his door, hoping it was you. Name and business, he called You let out an anxious huff and opened the door quickly, slipping inside. Levi was about to open his foul mouth, but you beat him to it. "Sing to me," you commanded sternly. He sniggered. "You know the drill. Grab the broom." "No. Tomorrow we have an expedition, and I'll be damned if I die without hearing you finish the song." You walked up to his desk, grabbing a chair as you did so and placed it in front of Levi, plopping your fine ass onto the seat. Your (e/c) eyes met Levis in a cold, unwavering glare; you were not backing down. "Sing to me." You commanded once more. Levi was taken aback; he had never seen this side of you, but he knew instantly that he liked it. With a smirk plastered on his lips, he cleared his throat and began to sing. "Hold me close, and hold me fast. This magic spell you cast, this is la vie en rose." Closing your eyes as you did every time, allowing Levi's voice to send a wave of serenity over you. "When you kiss me, heaven sighs. And though I close my eyes, I see la vie en rose." Levi noticed your eyes were closed; he took the opportunity and began inching closer to you. "When you press me to your heart, I'm a world apart. A world where roses bloom. And when you speak, angels sing from above. Everyday words turn into love songs." Levi raised his hand, tenderly pulling some of your (h/c) locks behind your ear. His hand ran down your arm until it interlaced with yours. Instantly, your body stiffened, and your breath hitched as it was caught in your throat. The shock from Levi's sudden touch had stolen your ability to breathe normally. "Give your heart and soul to me. And life will always be la vie en rose." Slowly, you opened your eyes as the song came to a close, only to be met by gunmetal grey hues gazing into yours. Hands intertwined, you both stayed still, appreciating the beauty of each other's company. You couldn't take it anymore; you wanted more than this. Fuck it, you muttered, and with your free hand, you gripped Levi's cravat, pulling him forward and smashing your crimson lips onto his. Levi felt a jolt surge through his muscular body; he couldn't believe you of all people were kissing him. It took a few seconds that felt like hours for his brain to register what the fuck was going on. Once he got used to the rhythm of your lips, he began kissing you back, running his digits through your hair, and tilting your head in a way to deepen the kiss. He grabbed your plump thighs and pulled you onto his lap,his hands now claiming their rightful place on your ass. You squeaked at your sudden movement. Giving Levi the perfect opportunity for his tongue to slide into your mouth, exploring every inch of what was now his, as it mingled with yours while you wrapped your arms around his neck to keep him close to you. But that closeness wouldn't last as you felt a sudden sharpness in your chest. Oh, no need to breathe. Reluctantly, you pulled away from Levi, the kiss still lingering on your lips, as you studied the curves of his lips that turned upward into a radiant smile. "Huh? I didn't know you could smile like that, Levi." He leaned in closer. "There's a lot of things I can do that you don't know about," he whispered seductively into your ear, which sent a bright scarlet blush to your cheeks.Time skip brought to you by broom in Levi's closetLevi, clad in an elegantly made black suit and white cravat, and you, in a stunning off-white dress, danced gracefully for the entire survey corps to see. "Who would have thought Levi Ackerman would get married?" Erwin exclaimed in bewilderment. "I know, I know. Shorty finally got himself some booty. "Hanji couldn't help but squeal like a fangirl at the sight of the couple. Erwin let out an exasperated sigh. "Way to cheapen the moment." "I'm sorry, eyebrows; I can't help it. Levi babies are on the way," she shrieked. "I want them to hurry up and make me a tyke tonight so I can teach it everything I know about titans and do experiments on it, I-umm mean with it." Erwin shot the mad scientist a concerned stare. "Hanji, you continue to confuse and terrify me as always." "Aww, thanks. I try my best." A shit-eating smirk was etched into her face. You glanced up at your new husband; his eyes glistened, a slight pink blush gracing his cheeks, and a beyond beautiful, captivating smile adorned his lips as his eyes met yours. "Je taime Levi," you whispered. "Je taime aussi ma belle rose."
